Wolfers Lighting & Design Home 2016

Posted on by admin

We’re thrilled to be involved with Boston Magazine and Design Home 2016 (you can read about our involvement in last year’s Design Home here).

Boston Home's Design Home is hosted at The Pinehills this year.

This year’s Design Home is hosted at The Pinehills, a New England village overlooking Cape Cod Bay. Boston Magazine says, “Design Home 2016 will feature the very best in historic New England lifestyle with all the benefits that come with living on a spectacular hilltop paradise. The featured Design Home unit features long distant views of the ocean, the arm of Cape Cod, and rolling hills of pine and oak. The refined but casual residence combines the rustic woodland spirit of the Dawn’s Light neighborhood in The Pinehills with the classic character of historic New England shingle style homes. This unique project is designed to be a timeless and beloved place for New Englanders of all generations to call home.”

We’re excited to be working with the design coordinator for the project, Angela Rotondo from Polhemus Savery DaSilva Architects/Builders. Angela recently shared her interior design philosophy: “The Design Home is envisioned as a contemporary, luxury retreat that provides a nature-inspired escape from an urban lifestyle. Natural light, bright open spaces and woodland views create a sense of comfort and relaxation.”

Right now, we’re been working with Angela through the design phase, as she considers the various lighting needs for the Design Home. Stay tuned for some sneak peeks, but in the meantime, you can check out pictures that show the house being built.

In September, the Design Home will be opening its doors to the public for four weeks of house tours. Proceeds will benefit Children’s Hospital in Boston.

We’ll definitely provide an update towards the end of summer. In the meantime, stop by one of our showrooms lots of great stuff is coming in (plus, we have air conditioning)!
