Designer Lighting Brands: Spotlight on Visual Comfort & Co.

Posted on by admin

For over 25 years, Visual Comfort & Co. has designed and manufactured lighting products renowned for their beauty, superior production, and exquisite attention to detail. Natural materials dominate many of the designs think hand-rubbed antique brass, forged irons, even parchment paper.

Regarding its approach to finishes, Visual Comfort says, “We create ‘living’ finishes that are warm and real, fashioned to enrich and patina over time. And, we spare no detail in the realization of each design, giving our lighting true personality and integrity.”

Under the leadership of head designer, Earl F. (Sandy) Chapman, Visual Comfort has led the way in producing gorgeous collections that complement a wide variety of decorative styles, including traditional and contemporary. Collections include E.F. Chapman, Thomas O’Brien, Barbara Barry, Alexa Hampton, and Suzanne Kasler. Last fall, Visual Comfort announced its newest partnerships with American interior and fashion designer Kelly Wearstler and Maryland-based Niermann Weeks.

At Wolfers, we’re huge fans of this iconic brand and so are our customers. Below are several favorite pieces.

This item demonstrates how a designer can take a material like brass and completely re-imagine it. Alexa Hampton is famous for creating a look that is “architectural and ageless, for both eclectic and established decors.” Sounds about right in regards to this distinctive piece.
